As it is Mother's Day, I contemplate on the influence my mother has had on me. What an amazing woman! So full of faith, love, compassion, equity, and fairness. I am so thankful for her. I am also thankful for my grandmothers and all the many women who have had part over the generations who have made me who I am. Yesterday I took Sarah and one of her friends along with Caroline down to St. George. Friday night Alan had taken the boys on a Father-Son campout. But while I was gone to St. George, he worked the whole time. He did laundry, cleaned, and made dinner so that when we got home it was ready for us. Really, what an amazing man! Today has been a great day as well. A breakfast of strawberry pancakes, homemade hashbrowns, and bacon-- and dinner that was amazing. (He usually makes Sunday dinner anyway, but it was still yummy!)
I LOVE when school gets out for the summer (and I LOVE when it is time to go back in August.) I am tired of homework and projects. 10 more days of school left. Yay :)
We are about half way through the baseball season. Joseph and Caleb are both in little league. They are in different age groups. Both are learning and liking it a lot.
Sarah tried out for the high school cheer team a few weeks ago. She was so crushed to not make it. I think it must be at least as hard on parents as it is on their children in situations like this. I have faith, though, that she didn't make it for a reason and that this is a better path for her. She is one of the leads in her middle school play- Guys and Dolls. She really enjoys it.
Business is going good. I have been doing billing for Alan's office for over a year now and it is just getting to be a lot, so we hired someone to work my office hours and I am just in charge of billing for the chiropractic business as well as billing for a durable medical equipment business that we do on the side...AND, I've been getting a body sculpting business going. I'll miss working regular hours at the office, but it will be nice to not have so much going!
This summer seems like it will be a busy one. Baseball games will be going a few weeks into June. Sarah has Youth Conference. Caleb has Cub Scout day camp. He also will be going to soccer camp. Sarah has girls camp. We have a family reunion on both sides. And Sarah is thinking she wants to go to BYU cheer camp to get ready to try out for cheer next year. On top of all of that, we will be putting our yard in.
I have to just end by saying how much I have enjoyed our new home. It is so good for us. I look forward to putting the boys in the basement, but for now, it's good.
