BA just told me a conversation he had with Sarah on the way home from cheer today:
Sarah: I just don't feel like I fit in in this family.
BA: Why not?
Sarah: Because everyone sits and watches TV.
Hysterical laughter from me. We got rid of cable 2 months ago mostly because she watched it SOOO much. And we don't have digital TV's, so no one has watched TV for 2 months here.
After BA points this out, he says: Is there another reason?
Sarah: Because everyone has a phone and I don't.
More hysterical laughing. Because only BA has a cell phone. Sarah wants a cell phone. But has yet to earn one.
So, BA tells me this right as Sarah comes down at bedtime. I give her a good laugh about it and then BA says: Well, Sarah, I didn't tell Mom yet the other thing you said.
Sarah: What other thing?
BA: When you said you like me better than Mom.
I pipe up at this point: It's ok, I like Joe better. (Laughing the whole time, but trying not to.)
Sarah tries to explain that I make her do jobs and Dad doesn't make her do things.
Still trying not to laugh, but not succeeding, I say: Ya, well Joe doesn't argue with me.
I am still laughing as I write this. I know my kids have spunk and sass in them. AND, I know where they get it. And sometimes I think it's funny.

HAHAHAHAHA! Love it.
That was funny. I sometimes wonder how kids' actually process things. their take is always so different from reality.
I feel like I don't fit in my family. They all just sit around eatting ice cream and I like to run marathons and participate in triathalons and stuff. I know exactly what she's talking about.
